This tea is certified organic and produced to fair labor standards. 

This iced selection defies all iced tea conventions—organic, tippy, and made with whole leaves suitable even for hot brewing, our Classic Green is in a class all its own. Premium as it is, this tea is unfussy; like our other iced teas, it's as simple as pouring water over the sachet and forgetting about it overnight. Knowing pure green teas are prone to astringency, we collaborated with our partners at Long Kou farm in Guangxi, China, to produce a sencha-style green tea with leaves they typically reserve for classic Chinese styles. The steamed and pressed leaves, closely resembling a Longjing (or, "Dragon Well") tea, provide an exceptionally even extraction surface that imparts a gentle sweetness and freshness not found in commodity-grade green teas.

With a soft meadowgrass flavor profile and light, airy body, Classic Green is designed to be refreshing. We experimented with countless iterations, both cold brewing and hot, to hone in on a tea that was easy-drinking and utterly lacked bitterness. And like our other masterful offerings, the answer was to have tea produced specifically for Hugo. This exclusive-to-us iced tea can be brewed hot for subtle grassiness or cold brewed for full sweetness—either pairs well with fresh citrus slices or fine spirits.

BREWING GUIDLINES

(use freshly boiled mineral water)

cold brew

(32 oz / 950 ml vessel—pitcher)

 1-2 pouches—cold water—refrigerate overnight

hot brew

 (32 oz / 950 ml vessel—pitcher)

 1-2 pouches—205ºF (96ºC)—10 minutes, then refrigerate
