This tisane is certified organic.
Rainier is our flagship tisane—a top-tier, no-nonsense organic botanical blend sourced from renowned mint farms in Washington State. Most mint-focused tisanes on the market are low-grade, stale, ultra-fine clippings of nonorganic leaves. Hugo's Rainier is the inverse: high-quality (the grade fine restaurants source), fresh (we source new crops annually), and intact to a degree optimal for even extraction. With a seductive aroma of scented chocolate (think girl scout thin mints) and a punchy menthol coolness, brewing peppermint leaves has never smelled or tasted better—and for baristas and home-brewers alike, that's the goal.
The terroir of the Pacific Northwest is famous for mint production; the extended wet season and fertile soil impart a distinct freshness to the plant, even after it's been dried. Rainier retains those qualities, releasing them on contact with hot water in a mist of crisp, wintry pepper that clears airways. The steeped blend leaves behind a rich marmalade liquor with an airy body that tastes vividly of fresh mint. Amongst our masterfully blended tisanes, this is the peak of refreshment.
